Welcome to CollabNotes ("the App"), developed by ASCENT APPS ("I", "me", or "my"). Your privacy is important. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and how your data is protected.

1. Information I Collect

I do not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

You remain in control of the information you create within the app.

2. Notes & Collaboration Data

When you create, share, or collaborate on notes, the following data may be stored securely using Google Firebase Firestore:

Note content
Shared collaboration data
Sync metadata (timestamps, note IDs, sharing codes)

This storage enables real-time collaboration, syncing across devices, shared editing, and backup functionality.

Your notes are not sold or shared with third parties.

3. Google Firebase Services

The app uses Firebase services (Google LLC) which may collect limited technical information such as:

Crash logs
Device information
Performance diagnostics
Anonymized usage data

This information helps improve stability and performance and does not personally identify you.

4. Google Play Services & In-App Purchases

Payments

Google Play handles all billing and payment processing. ASCENT APPS does not collect or store payment information.

Crash Reports & Diagnostics

Google Play Console may provide anonymized crash and usage reports to improve app performance.

5. Data Sharing & Collaboration

When you share a note:

Users with the share code or access link can view or edit shared content.
Only data necessary for collaboration is stored and transmitted.

You are responsible for managing who you share notes with.

6. Data Security

Reasonable measures are used to protect your data through secure cloud infrastructure and encrypted communication. However, no system is completely secure.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Notes remain stored while you use the app.
Deleting notes removes them from the database.
Shared notes may remain accessible to collaborators unless deleted.

8. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
